Manual Product
A manual product is one added manually through the Shopify Admin.
The system is very intuitive and is easy to follow. Keep an eye out on the fields on the right hand side so you can add products to manual collections or add tags for automatic collections.
It's a good idea to assign images to each individual variant option too, if you have them. This can be done in the admin on the product page:
If you want to sell on Google Shopping and use Google Ads, your products will need to have variants. If you are selling single products, this is something to think about.
For example, if you have one pair of earrings available in no other colour or design, it might look something like this:
In order for it be eligible for Google Shopping, it would need to have at least one variant like this:
While this works around Googles requirements, it may confuse some customers and make them think there should be another option available.
To get around this, you can list your products twice in the admin; one with a variant, and one without. The one with a variant can be made available to Google Shopping, the one without made available to your online store. If you look at the above images, you'll notice a "." at the end of the product title for the variant option. This can be used to distinguish between the products at a glance in the admin.
