About Roybins

Welcome to Roybins! A nickname that stuck after a classmate in primary school (or elementary school for our American friends) spelled my name wrong on a Christmas card. My mother was highly amused and it's been a part of my life ever since. Thank you kind classmate!

You probably heard of this site after chatting to me through Shopify support. I'm a Shopify guru and decided to try and make a one-stop shop for new and existing merchants to show you what can be achieved with the Shopify platform. There is a LOT of information available.. On nearly every interaction with a merchant, I share something relevant to their situation. So where do you start with it all?

Hopefully here!

You'll find information on what the Shopify platform (or admin as we call it) can do, what you need apps for, which apps are free and which are paid, how to choose a theme, add products and collections, and plenty more helpful videos and links as well as everything you need to get you started with a solid SEO and conversion strategy.

There is no single way to create a store and start selling products. Source and add products first or get stuck into theme design and come back to products later, it doesn't matter. Your store will be unique to you so get ready to be decisive!

If you've never had an online store before, the first thing to do is sign up for Shopify Academy. Just check out this list of free courses on offer:

The more time you invest in learning about how to run your business, the easier you will find it. Not that it will be easy - running your own business is a tough job, but done right, it can be very rewarding.

Let me also say that I am certainly not a coding expert, though I have a huge interest in it. I had very little experience in coding before I started with Shopify and if I can make learn to make changes (which we'll look at later) so can you! Please make sure to follow the guidelines before making changes on your site - it might take a little longer, but it's so worth it.
